How did you get into Naturopathic Oncology?

I became interested in Naturopathic Oncology when I was an undergraduate student at San Francisco State University. It was there I learned about the role of nutrition in health and it’s impact on the development of cancer. I began looking into the oncology world and found the conversation of nutrition significantly lacking. The more I researched the more I felt there was so much more we could be doing help cancer patients beyond conventional therapies!! I switched my academic trajectory and began working towards a naturopathic degree.

What do you do during your downtime and/or what do you do for fun?

I love to travel! One of my favorite forms of travel is taking road trips with my partner. As I write this I am sitting in Peru exploring the world as a graduation present to myself.

What are you most grateful for in your practice of naturopathic oncology?

With respect to the practice of naturopathic oncology, I am most grateful for the opportunity to provide support for patients that they (usually) don’t get anywhere else in their care. We listen, we care, we treat them as individuals beyond their disease. This is one of the most amazing aspects of our medicine.

About your clinic:

I just started my 2- year residency at Sage Cancer Care in Portland, Oregon with Dr. Dave Allderdice. I am very excited to join their team!
