Research Resources
Research Toolkits
The OncANP Research Committee has put together two wonderful toolkits to help members navigate the resources available to clinicians to strengthen their research-informed practices as well as conducting research directly.
Conducting Research as a Clinician – A Toolkit
This toolkit compiles resources for NDs who are interested in clinician-led research. The toolkit focuses on resources to help with case reports, retrospective chart reviews, program evaluation, small observational studies, and review papers. Large observational studies and interventional trials require large study teams and institutional affiliations and thus are not the focus of this resource page.
This toolkit is not a comprehensive “how-to” document but is designed to provide resources to facilitate the process of developing, executing, and disseminating your research. Please note that it is always the responsibility of the clinician and researcher to ensure they have the proper training and are conducting research in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Using Evidence In Clinical Practice – A Toolkit
In an era where an overwhelming amount of research is regularly distributed and accessible, often in the presence of unchecked disinformation, being able to stay up-to-date, critically appraise work, and decipher findings is paramount for being an evidence-informed practitioner. This collection of resources provides you with approaches to stay on top of relevant studies/findings, while also developing essential skills necessary for using research judiciously in a clinical setting.
