Resident Spotlight

Ashley Smith, ND

How did you get into Naturopathic Oncology?

I was drawn to Naturopathic Oncology after losing a loved one to cancer.  I was unhappy with the treatment options and information is given to them, and that led me to do my own research.  That experience sparked my interest and motivated me to learn more so that I could offer other families a more holistic approach to treating Cancer.

What do you do during your downtime and/or what do you do for fun?

In my downtime I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, having fun with our 3 dogs, reading, and trying new recipes.

What are you most grateful for in your practice of naturopathic oncology?

I’m most grateful for the opportunity to help patients feel empowered in themselves.  Receiving a diagnosis of cancer is difficult and decisions are often made out of fear, so I love that I’m able to help patients make informed decisions and feel confident in whatever treatment approach they take.
